The fourth in the series of ESRC research seminars on the Lisbon Strategy was held at the London School of Economics on Friday 3 June 2005. The theme of the seminar - What's Left of Lisbon? - reflects the ambivalence concerning both the future direction of the Strategy and the future of the open method of co-ordination in the wake of the KoK report and the mid-term review of the Strategy. The web-site for the seminar series can be found at http://www.laws.qmul.ac.uk/lisbon. Jonathan Zeitlin's presentation, "The Open Method of Coordination and the Future of the Lisbon Strategy", is available here.

Previous seminars in this series were held on 27 February 2004 at the School of Law, Queen Mary, University of London (with a focus upon the key policy orientations of the Lisbon Strategy); on 21 July 2004 at the University of Cambridge (focusing on the use of the ‘open method of co-ordination’ (OMC) as a technique of economic and social governance); and on 26 November 2004 at the University of Birmingham (exploring the possibilities for policy learning through exchanges of best practice as a way for the European Union to develop its problem-solving capacities).
